ZANSHIN MARTIAL ARTS - CLASS INFO

Zanshin offers split classes on age.

Our classes are inclusive and culturally sensitive. If you or your family have needs, preferences, or requirements in order to feel safe and comfortable with training, please speak to the instructor about it or contact us - we’ll do our best to accommodate you within the Zanshin club. We have a range of instructors and each one teaches a bit differently, which can help with finding the perfect match.

Kids

Ages 5-11

Kids should train in the Junior class - they often have (or will find) peers to support and enjoy their training with.

Teens

Ages 12-14

Teenagers are unique. Zanshin understands and students in this age range can feel more comfortable training with younger or older students, or get bored with a particular type of training, and we allow some flexibility as to how this age group trains. Most teenagers will train in the Senior classes, or opt to move out of the Junior class into the Senior class.

Adults

Ages 15+

Adults have to train as seniors. Zanshin Senior classes are more intense - the expected level of discipline from the students is higher, and classes focus more on skills and fitness rather than coordination and games.

Aiki Training

Brown Belts aged 16+

On receiving their brown belt, students can attend the Aiki advanced training classes. This is advanced, physical and mentally challenging instruction, and is the peak of Zanshin training. Students learn advanced aikido techniques and the additional curriculum required to advance through the dan grades.

You have to blend!
